Question: is this entire unit waterproof? - can i use it in the shower?

Answer: Can be submerged up to 1 meter in water for 30 minutes. So yes. you can shower and brush your teeth.

Question: Do i need to remove the brush head from the handle every time i use and clean the brush ? or can i rinse the brush head while it is attached to handle.

Answer: Rinse while attached, best thing about this brush over sonicare is that you don't get "gunk" where brush connects to handle, nothing can get in there on these. Or You can simply rinse the brush head while its on the handle. There is no need.
